A arm bushings and steel rod?
« on: August 27, 2024, 08:46:52 PM »
I was suppose to have replaced my A arm bushings last year 2018 zforce 800 trail about this time.
Never happend, didn't even order the parts. Some things are beyond our control and
happen.
Anyway.....I'm going to try this again.
I went back and looked at alot of old posts of others useing polaris bushings after they were modified,I do not want to go that route.
I've spent the last few days looking for a complete bushing kit with the metal inner rod that goes into the bushing.Thier are not alot of choices pickins are very slim.
This is what i found.
Ali express has a complete kit bushing and rods at a decent price, shipping is a bit stiff but what ya gonna do.The bushings are black in color which makes me think they could be the cheap ones that came stock.
The other ones are the blue or what ever color that is and are polyurethane which from what i read are the way better ones.I do know that if i could find Delrins that would be the way to go.The polyurethanes do not come with the steel sleeve and i would like to replace them.
Not finding them i'm guessing i'm going to buy a steel pipe and cut my own.
Now a few posts that i seen from the past others have gone this direction with succes.
Does ANYONE know of a supplier that has the pipe or where i can get the rods .
NMK..........You gave me the size of pipe i will need last year, both OD and ID for the bolt.
Could you please do it again,i cant find my notes.
Sorry for such along post.

The reality is CFM uses bushing and sleeve sizes that is either very hard or impossible to find by any supplier. Even the sleeves I used didn't fit the polaris bushings exactly tight enough even after knurling. And its true that all materials and colors they use is either cheap plastic or one step-up polyurethane but none are Delrin...which have been a lifesaver for mine even with the fitment issue. Except..for the fact that my wheel spacers even as they are 1.5" still cause the rear knuckle bushings to wear quickly. I did buy the OE CFM bushings and sleeves for then the last time...and cussed myself for spending that kind of money for so little. But..they did fit tight and have held-up so far.

The sleeve material I used I got from ebay and was 5/8"OD and I think 3/8" ID but it had to be bored-out to accept the 10mm bolt. Anyway the yellow bushings are the cheapest plastic, the black ones are a notch better..not sure if they are polyurethane or not but they are what I got, and the blue...I don't know...Anyway get the bushings you want then mic-out the bore and start looking. Get them too long and cut them down to fit tightly between the mounts. I even found some thin 2mm brass bushing that could be used over the top of the 5/8" but it would have to be machined and I don't have that ability in my shop at this time.. do I caved and bought the OE bushings. Good luck to you...you are taking-up the quest. :)

My Quest has been full field.
I have been looking for a arm bushings for my 2018 zforce trail 800 for a real long time.Usually when i get on the computor to look i will spend 3-4 hours till i get burnt out and sick of looking. This time it was worth every minute.
I FOUND a arm bushings and the metal sleeve for the cfmoto,I am just stoked.
The price for them is a bit steep $350.00 but they do come with the steel spacer rod and are polyurathane which means they will last.
The company who had them are DKoffroad.ca  780-238-3684.I take it thier in Canada.
I did send them a message asking a few questions and hope to hear back from them.
