7 pin round plug?

Hey guys I have a 14 800ex I was greeseing to the back a arms today and noticed a round puck style thing on the driver side rear just right of the upper shock tower it has a flapper door on it and it reveals a round 7pin plug. Can anyone shed some light on this ? I'm thinking is some kinds trailer harness maybe but it's like nothing Im familiar with.

It's for a trailer plug for trailer lights. A standard plug might fit it but the CFMs come with one when new....
