4x4 Question
« on: July 14, 2025, 04:14:34 PM »
We have now owned our 2023 CForce 1000 Overland for two years.  I just turned it over 500 miles and ran into a problem yesterday.

I shifted to Neutral and flipped the switch to engage 4x4.  It wouldn't engage.  I shifted to reverse, to high to low to park and back through and nothing would help it engage.

Anyone have any tips?

I am guessing I am out of the warranty window, so I am a little pissed this is happening to a brand new machine.

I presume you hear nothing from the actuator and no changes to the 2/4wd indicator in the dash. Its most often the switch but check the fuses first. Then check the connector at the actuator for corrosion. If all is OK then get a can of spray contact cleaner and work it into the switch. May have to take it apart. You can also test the switch. If it tests OK, then my guess is something has happened to the actuator...like it got water in it.

Find the relay, remove it and reseat it. That fixed mine that did the same thing.

Thank you and sorry for the late response.  I have been completely covered up at work.

I will check those things this weekend.
