38B19R battery
« on: February 20, 2021, 09:42:09 AM »
Looking for a UTV buggy battery....38B19R MFZ....same bottom size as a lawn mower battery, but it is 8 inches tall.  Looking on the internet I located them in Australia and New Zealand at $168.00

I'm not wanting too order from another country...for sure. This battery has 10mm studs....like car battery studs, but they are skinny...10mm.

Four year old battery shows good with the green eye like Delco batteries had years ago. The voltage is there but a 100 amp draw with tester....it just fades away.

 thoughts...

What is this for? Load testing any battery is usually 1/2 the rated CCAs for ten seconds. Is that what you are doing? My thoughts are- if the battery is bad, just replace it with a quality battery with the same rating as is required by the vehicle manufacturer...maybe a bit more CCAs and aHs if possible.

This battery is for my X&Y Powersports 600 CF Moto engine. The battery is a GS MFZ. Voltage wise at 12.2 looks good, but it was hard starting "electric fuel pump" draw maybe?

Put in a Walmart lawn mower battery and it started right up. Had to improvise the battery cable hookup. That showed me the GS battery needed replaced. Some say to replace with a small size Honda Civic car battery. Might be doing just that.

Had the engine out this winter to replace the side cover shifting gears....now I have it together with the snow blade on and will be moving the 3 foot of snow here in northern Indiana.

Thanks for your reply NMKawierider.......well, tried to post a picture but it wouldn't transfer...

 I guess it did transfer...huh....

this is last years......not too much snow. This year is a different story. My 2-wheel drive truck hasn't moved for a couple weeks because of all the snow. Now my buggy will take care of that.lol
