2024 ZForce 800Ex

Hi there
I apologize if this topic already exists here somewhere. Having transmission issues where the machine pops out of drive resulting in gear grind (even though the shifter is still physically in the drive detent) if anyone has any ideas I’d really appreciate it.
Cheers Pete

Welcome. I don't see that there is any ZForce 800 EX in the 2024 lineup. Only the 800 Trail version. Regardless, it has been common for CFM to mis-adjust the shifter at the factory as the gate and the transmission have separate detents. As their engines are rubber-mounted this causes movement in the engine but the shifter...at least on the older ones..were connected by a solid shaft and this movement would pull it out of gear if off even a little. The 2024s have a cable instead but can still pop out of gear if not adjusted properly. You should do this ASAP as this poping out of gear under pressure tends to bent the shifter fork making the damage repairable only by engine tear-down. If after adjusting the cable so as both detents are the same and it still comes out of gear...it may be too late for the fork.
