2023 Z Force 800 G2 Trail
« on: April 12, 2023, 12:33:28 PM »
Hey eveyone! I just picked up the new Zforce 800 G2 and I'm finding that the wheels flick a lot of water and mud in the air ahead and behind me. I'm still waiting on my windshield so even at low speed, there's quite a bit of mud and water flying in my face. I feel that even with the windshield, it's going to constantly get very dirty. Just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience. I'm thinking about picking up a set of fender flares to try and combat it but there are none available yet for that model I guess because it's too new. My old machine was a Uforce 800 and I never had that problem. Thanks!

My old G1 Z800 had that same problem. I first put EX fenders on it but it looked just too dorky..so I kept the rear wings and made my own custom fenders out of 1/8" ABS sheet. I believe the write-up and maybe a video is still in the How-Tos. All was fine until I put on the 1.5" spacers. Now they stick out slightly and I get a little slinging but I just slow down a bit in those areas.

I have the 800 G2 and dont recall that happening. Maybe its the type of dirt. My dirt in N.TX is more of a sandy loam.

Yeah we have a lot of bog and mud up here in Newfoundland, especially this time of year with the winter melt. I did pick up a used windshield after, still waiting on mine from CFM. I must say it made a huge difference. I also fabricated a cargo box to keep everything in that area clean and dry.

The mud gets stuck in the tread and gets flung out in the direction you are going and you run into it.
Not much you can do about the mud comming from the front other than installing full fenders, just enjoy the experience and hope it is raining enough to wash the mud off the windshield.
A lot of us that ride in the Owyhees in Idaho and Oregon try and not ride when the trails are muddy.  Owyhee mud is almost concrete when it dries and almost takes a chisel to get it off, when it is wet I have seen it encase a rider's feet on a quad to the point almost had to use a shovel to get him loose and build up in the rear that the tire was rubbing in it.  We would  have not been riding that day except a drizzle started on our way back.
