2023 CF Moto 800CX brand new, smells like something burning?

Hi all, new to the board, just bought this today, took a little spin, and there is an outrageous smell coming from it. Doesn't seem like a petroleum burning smell. It is nasty. Has anyone else ever had this happen?
Thanks for any direction !

If it's coming from the exhaust, CFM sometimes uses a large amount of metal rust preventative that take a very long time to burn off...longer then one would think. Smells a little like burning creosote. Its all over all the exhaust..inside and out so it will also smell some coming up from around the engine area. If it smells like plastic though take a close look close to the exhaust pipes for any melting plastics. CFM has been known to leave-off some heat shields.

Hi thanks for confirming that. After a few more miles on it, it does seem to be fading away.........
