2021 Cforce 800 Melted Fan Fuse* FIRE HAZARD

Hey Everyone,
     I had a awful experience today stranded until problem found. 2021 CFORCE 800 w 250 miles. Machine continuously turned on and cut out in the field until I found the issue. Display was having a stroke as well. 
     The issue was my Auto Fan Fuse located next to the coolant reservoir. A stand alone 40 fuse. It was completely melted and damaged the assembly around it and never blew. Radiator a little dirty but nothing crazy. Machine always runs hot around legs. 4 bars on temp display is normal with very limited mileage. What is the cause of this??? How hot and how quick has always been a concern.

      Funny enough the ignition locked up not allowing my key to turn two hours earlier. Had to pull the ignition in the field and inset two small flat heads on sides of interior ignition to get the key to turn. Stranded again until this was fixed. I’ve never had issues now I am concerned

Well..fan fuses are not above 15 amp. Mains are.. as well as PS motor power. CFM had had a lot of problems with their 2018-2020 main fuse holders having internal crimp /connection problems. This problem does not blow the fuse but the increasing resistance does cause all kinds of electrical issues and holder/fuse melt down..like yours. First one past 2020 I have seen do this though...except from the looks of it yours had a loose sword connection, not a bad crimp. Guess they still need to do better quality control. Just cut it out and put a North American made fuse and holder in. Might start checking the others.

Also, rule of thumb here in the west- never use standard or mini fuses past 20 amp. A 40 amp fuse should have been like one of these Maxi fuse and holders rated for 50 amps with a 40 amp fuse installed. Not cheap...but nothing right ever is these days.

Don't replace any that are OK. And most often it the high-amp fuse holders that have the problem. So far...it's only been the main and a few of the P/S motor fuse blocks.

Are you SURE that is a 40amp fuse?

Red has always meant 10 amps in my experience.
The fan should be 15 amp I believe (blue).
40 amps it like a tan I think.

Still, a loose contact between the fuse and holder will generate enough heat to melt things even at lower amperage.

At any rate, I'd have the dealer fix it under warrantee.

At first I didn't think they even made a 40 amp mini fuse because I can't believe the swards and receivers could handle that kind of load on a mini....but a quick search on Amazon found these...in red. Unreal!
