I've been reading about the addition of a pre filter mod mounted on the intake between the seats. I'm wondering if a twin air caged filter would work? How to size the twin air, get something that works for, let's say a 1000cc Honda motorcycle. Will the 800 be able to breath ok?
Next Q, reading about the reroute of the intake of the clutch an belt intake. Wondering if one could route the intake to the intake box of the engine?
TIA
I purchased a 30 PPI uni filter 12" x 24" x 3/8" sheet and more user friendly 8 mm push pins that actually can be screwed out with a phillips head screw driver off amazon, cut to size to fold over the intake neck inside the grille, hot melt glued the sides of the filter together, oiled it, removed the stock pre-filter bag, and slipped over the intake neck. I put 50 miles in semi-dusty trails and the filter gathered a lot of dust. I spun it around 180 degrees the clean side now over the intake hole for my next ride. Once I get that side dirty, I'll remove the filter, cleaned, re-oil, and reinstall. I also, cut a section of the same 30 PPI uni filter the size of the cvt intake vent cover, removed the vent cover, oiled and installed, reinstall the vent cover. It was also dusty after the 50 mile ride, so I removed it, cleaned, reoiled and reinstalled for the next ride. I have the Zforce 500, so not sure if the CVT intake setup is the same as the 800, I didn't notice any difference in performance.
