Hi all.   I just purchased my new c force atv. 520 eps 2021 model.     If I have a battery problem , is there a back up method for starting ?  I can't see one but I have not yet looked too hard.   because it's hidden in the shed so my girlfriend can't find it.   I'm expecting abuse because of spending money

A pull start won't help because the ECU needs power to energize the fuel pump and EFI.

If you want a pull start backup, you'll need to by a carbureted machine.

Good battery maintenance is always a good start. Using a tender when not in use helps keep them healthy as well as any lead-acid battery getting topped off with distilled water every year or two really avoids surprises down the trail.

I second the battery tender. My wifes ATV is a Arctic Cat 550 Limited and over time the battery will drain out? I assume the ECU does not shut off completely draining the battery after months of not using it.

I put a battery tender on both her ATV and my Arctic Cat sled and have had no issues since. I installed a tender connection on my CForce but have yet to connect a tender to it. One thing a did notice with the display of the CForce is that when it is shut off there are two bars on the top right of the display that are always present. Is that normal

Don't know for sure on a CForce but my first gut reaction was..not normal. It is normal for anything that requires memory like a clock, any settings programing like speedo calibrations...ect to need power to maintain that data. Thus "parasitic" draw and one reason to use a tender.

Disconnect the battery and see if those lines go away. If they do...I would be talking to my dealer.

Actually, in my experience this is true if the battery is stone dead, but far more often the problem is that there isn't enough battery reserve to spin the motor over without their either being too much voltage drop due to the starter drawing so much from a depleted battery, or it just won't spin fast enough to catch. I have a backup recoil starter on my King Quad EFI and having it has served me well on occasion.
As a reserve now I carry one of those lithium battery boosters, weighs very little, can be used by others not just me, and would likely provide 20 starts for a battery such as ours.
