My new ZF1000's engine braking seems to be every bit as strong as my 800 was. As for acceleration, there's no comparison and the clutch appears to be part of the equation for sure.
Hal

This is good news regarding braking, very big concern of mine  8) I've driven the ZF1K, day & night power wise to the 800.
ZF 800 LX Trail, stock for now.......not for long.

Hi, today I have made a very nice 300km ride with 3 other sxs.
My ZForce 800 Trail 2015 (56 inch with spacer) a stock ZForce 800 Trail 2016, a Polaris RZR 900XC 55 inch and a Polaris RZR 800 50 inch (53 with spacer)

I have made many many test for exactly explain to you an answer all the questions and debat about the engine braking.  Yes the race kit with the wet clutch delete have engine braking. More engine braking and more instant engine braking than a stock ZForce. What it dosent have is drag brake if the engine is below 2000 rpm or 5 km/h in high gear or close to 3 km/h in low gear. Over that the engine braking is stronger and more instant than stock. So if you make rock crawling speed hill descent you don’t have engine brake. In all other situations it work better than stock with absolutely no clunking or rattling.

For the performance, it’s not even close but it’s hard to know how much of the gain are related to the Trailblock clutch vs the Power Commander and exhaust. The biggest difference is in the instant response of the engine. It rev WAY faster. On a roll on from 60 km/h to 100 km/h it’s at least 5-6 bike length.
We have also take the gps and check the top speed of the 4 machines on a hard pack snow/ice (on a lake trail)
ZForce 800 race kit : 117 km/h
RZR 900 Xc stock : 113 km/h
ZForce 800 stock : 103 km/h
RZR 800 stock : 99 km/h

I know I can’t compare my ZForce with the stock one of today’s because I have take a lot of time in tuning my clutching (primary have 25g and 26g in alternance) and my secondary is clocked + my engine have intake mod, exhaust and Power Commander. All is set to have the powerband exactly where I whant. What I know is that is absolutely impossible to obtain with the stock wet clutch set up.

Also the good thing is in my 300km ride of today my oil pressure light have not flashed. I think that is because on my last ride when the light have flashed randomly it was because I have run in a lot of powder snow and all the engine was covered with snow. I think this have made buzzing my sensor...

Sorry for my english, I try to make my best but 😂

Also one thing are very strange.
My Speedo read exactly the same as the GPS and my friend ZForce seem to be way off. On his top speed run the gps say 103 km/h and is speedo say 119 km/h !!!

Your quicker revving engine is for sure mostly due to losing weight on the crank

So if you make rock crawling speed hill descent you don’t have engine brake.

Dang. That's a shame.

I wonder if there is a solution for this ....

One that I know of. The wet clutch equipped with a Sprague, one way clutch.

I have put 2 new video of my ZForce 800 with the race kit installed. Night and day from stock...

Just put on YouTube (i don’t know how to put it here)

- ZForce 800 race kit accélération
- ZForce 800 race kit ride

You can see how much faster the ZForce was and also how strong is the engine braking.
You can judge by yourself...

Thanks NMKawirider,

The first one is to show you the engine braking....and to show you how the clutching react. I think that will close the discussion of people that don’t have try it...🙄

The 2nd is just to show you how faster is the acceleration. Night and day from a stock ZForce 800.

In this 2 video I have 27-28 gram weight in the primary Trailblock clutch to put the rpm a little lower than what I run Normally. With the very slippery trails now if I run 25-26 gram like habitually I bump the cut off on every start.

CTDLS, if you think a stock ZForce perform like that, please show me that...
