2015 X&Y powersports 600 UTV

 Need some help with my X&Y with cf moto 600 engine that is stuck in high gear. It has always shifted hard since being new.

 Took shift linkage off of lever at the engine. Jacking it up or rolling the buggy wheels have no bearing on shifting. So it won't start...not being in neutral. It is jammed....period.

 One shop says I need to pull the engine for a look see. But they also said they wouldn't work on it. Matter of fact the five shops I had went too to talk about it wouldn't touch the chinese machine.

 It has 260 miles on it and was used to haul wood outside my shop to the inside  for easy access for my wood burner. Other than that it has a snow plow, cab encloser, real glass windshield with a windshield wiper....and 4-wheel drive with hydraulic bed.. I never beat on it and it looks like new....being stored inside.

 So that's my dilemma........Ron.... :-\

Without seeing what it is and isn't doing it will be a bit tough but sounds like the shifter drum or fork has a problem. Especially if the linkage will not move. That usually means a tear-down.

 Hate to agree with you NMKawierider, but that's what I have resigned too. Thanks for the response.

 Looks like it has too come out the bottom. That 600 engine looks pretty big. Any idea as to what the motor would weigh........300 pounds maybe?

 There is a CF Moto dealership about 30 miles from me that I talked to (Wakarusa, In) that I gave serial numbers of engine too and he said that it is a 2014 engine of which is different than any of the CF Moto UTV buggies that he has. And of course, he was reluctant to get into it. New dealer by a couple of years....and of coarse not familiar with 2014 engine.

GETTING PARTS IS WHAT THEY ALL SAY.....

Oh I would think the engine is less then 200 lbs total. Interestingly on the Alpha-Sports.com site they don't show a 600 engine offered in other models in 2014 but..not surprised. May be time to get something that parts are more available for.
