These rack and pinion systems are pretty nice to steer without power steering. And offer far less bump-steer then conventional stem & rod systems. The PS comes in it's own when like said, in rock crawling, deeper mud, being in 4WD and especially when the diff-loc is engaged .. although it is always advisable not to be in diff-loc when turning, sometimes it's unavoidable. Like my father always said..." It's better to have and not need...then to need.. and not have".  :)

I wish Power Steer was available when I bought mine. Gets very tiring spraying with 8 gallons of water on the front and four corners to every paddock.

Went to the local dealer today.  Test drove the trail version today (it was outside, the EX was inside) and it's got some nice umph.  The power steering is really nice.  The EX EPS version they have is blue, which I'm not in love with, but it looks much better in person.  Negotiated a bit, but I have another machine to sell before I should buy something else.  They did match another dealer's price, so if I sell this other thing, I'd go buy this one immediately.

I have the 15 ex no eps and while in Arkansas I was traveling down a trail at a slower speed, went to go over 2 rocks on the passenger side , and that tire slide down between the 2 rocks spun the wheel so fast I thought I too had lost my thumb!!!!
Now I believe that there many factors in this story... Speed or the lack there of. Awareness of my driving ( maybe a few less adult beverages?) abilities, and just maintaining control of my ride. I like the no ps since i can feel the trail! Yes in 4x it is a little tougher to steer, but usually I am headed up hill,so my frontend is even lighter, which makes steering easier. That's my .02 cents!

I wish they would use a different rack when they equip one with power steering. I do love my power steering and the ease it offers in all situations but.. IMO.. it needs to turn quicker..like a 1/2 turn from center either direction to the stop instead of what it is. It would make quick, tight trail riding much more fun and a faster ratio wouldn't be quite as easy.. giving you back some of the feel of the trail....without the Bump-Steer.

Anybody know if there is any difference in the cages between the different year Zforce EX EPS models?  I don't think there is, but I was looking at a back glass offered on Ebay and it does not list the 2017 as an acceptable model year.

They are all the same. Plastics too except for some slight additions.

Appreciate that.  So just to clarify - the 500 and 800 trail and EX versions are all essentially the same body/plastics/cage, etc.  Now, the 2014's are different, though.  Right?

Not that much. In 2014 they had the Snyper 800 and 600. The 800s were the same as today but the 600s had some different plastics and cage design.

This was the 800 Snyper. Same as the 800 EX today:

And this was the 600 Snyper. It was the 53" of it's day.

You could also get the 600 with these fenders that will fit the 800-Trail or 53" versions.

I went ahead and ordered the back window.  With paypal credit you get a 20% discount, so with shipping included, it was about $100.  Figured I couldn't make one for that, so why not.  Not sure if it's not scratch resistant, says it's clear lexan polycarbonate.  But with it being a back window, I didn't think it was all that important.  I'll just have to be careful when cleaning it.

I noted the 2014 models do have a different cage, so that makes sense.  The vendor offers a different back window for that year model.
