Not sure which shield you are talking about but there is a plastic skid plate stock, reinstall in helps to slide on rocks and not get hung up.  Any other plastic shield is likely for splash should to keep mud and water out,  reinstall those too saves electronics keeps things a little cleaner

Yes it's a plastic skid plate about 28" wide X 61" long and had sixteen 100mm bolts with metal grommets. OK I'll re-install it if it helps. Thanks so much!

I Spoke to soon. Yesterday I went out to start it up, just to make sure everything was still working as it should. It started up fine and I let it run for a short time (Idel) and then I turned it off. The motor shutdown, however it sounded as if the key had been turned to the start position and it sounded as if the starter was energizing on it's own again? I had to disconnect the positive cable off the battery to get it to stop?? I'm kind of bummed out but certainly not going to give up. Unfortunately my next day off work is Monday?? I'll try and take a small video of the problem in the next couple of days. Does anyone think it might be a bad starter?

Thanks Cosmosdan however I replaced the Ignition switch, starter relay solenoid and put in a new battery. I'm not a mechanic but I'm thinking perhaps there's a bad wire or possibly the starter.

It does not HAVE to be the switch. If I were you I would pull out the starter and hook it up and turn the key like you were going to start it and see if it stay engages when you release they key. Then remove the power wire from the start and test for power, if it still has power with key released follow the wire back. It can either be a shorted wire to power, or a relay/solenoid sticking closed or the ignition switch sticking closed. I don't think the starter could be causing it as it has to get power to spin if the power was being cut correctly it would stop spinning.  or maybe its that blower fan staying on not the starter? First find out for sure what is staying engaged with the key off.

Hmm, I replied to this message yesterday however I see today that it did not post??? Anyway, I'm away from home working for the next 3 days. When I get back home I will try trouble shooting again.  Thanks REDRIDER for the advice I will certainly try your suggestions. Thanks again to all and have a GREAT weekend.  PS- I was really hoping someone would say "Hey I've had that same problem, I changed out the starter and that fixed it". Oh well back to trouble shooting.
