Good Day to all, We have jsut purchased and brought home a 2021 ZForce 800 Trail.  I want to start it correctly, where do I start and what has to be done to make sure it is reliable transportation into the Big Horn Mountains and back.  I am tryin to read everything here but it gets confusing to look at it all at once. Here are my Questions, I appreciate the help in advance.

    Do you change the factory oil as soon as you get it home?

    I know that we need to redo the air filters but there are so many ideas posted, I don't know how to rig our
       machine.

    I assume that my dealer has greased all the zerks but should I do it over again.

    What about the water / antifreeze mixture?  What comes in the radiator and what should be used there.  It
       have been known to get a bit chilly here, not bad but did drop to -32 last winter.

    Spare tire and wheel, pretty spendy, how to achieve safety and not break the bank.

    Does anyone haul their hunting dog on these machines?  If so how?  We use our Lab to hunt Blue Grouse and
    hope to be able to find less hunted areas with this machine.

I have numbered your questions and will try to answer them as best I can.

1- No, check your owners manual on the first service/oil change and either go by that or do one in half that time.
2- No need to modify it so soon but you best at least get that Unifilter on it before running it at all. You can work on the intake relocate later. Just stop the trash from entering the engine.
3- Don't assume anything- grease all zerks and check all bolts for proper torque...everything! CFM is known for leaving things loose.
4- The antifreeze is OK for now but I do suggest by winter changing it to a quality 50/50 mix suitable for aluminum blocks and with a water pump lubricant. Add extra if not sure.
5-Many people including me just have a fully-stocked repair kit and a small compressor of some sort. I also replaced the cheap 2-ply tires with 8-ply radials to avoid problems. No flats at all so far.
6- Some do however room is limited. Some custom-make a padded cage with a platform for the back but know it's very dusty back there and not the place for a dog in dusty areas. You can remove the passenger seat and make an area there for him/her.

NM, thank you for the responses, that helps a lot.  I had to extend the front of the trailer we haul it on and got that done this morning.  We will see what I can get done tonight.  Surfe want to hit the trail and see where iot can take us.

My zerks had very little to no grease in them.
Dealer said they were supposed to have grease in them from the factory.
I greased them all up nicely. I use Amsoil Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease.
I added dust/dirt/mud caps to my zerks.

There was a lot of room for fresh grease at every point on our new 800 trail.  Thank you for telling me about these situations.  Amazon seems to be out of the UNI oil filter, where do you guys buy yours??

They are out of the straight ones everywhere but the angled ones do work...in fact we started with them in the beginning. It will be the UP6229ast or if they make it, NU8703ast.
