2-up Touring/Exploring/Adventure Rides
« on: June 18, 2023, 05:16:00 PM »
I did a search, but only see comments about the pillion seat, etc...

What I would like to hear from others is.....

What is your riding experience 2-up?
What adventures/trips have you made and how did it go?
How does the machine behave with the sig-other on the back seat?
How often does the sig-other bail off when the trail gets tough?
etc......

We just picked up our 2-up seat yesterday and eager to explore!

Lots of people..just must be out riding...lol.  I've heard the CFM seat setup is one of the most comfortable there is for the passenger. Many compare it to the Can Ams. If it were me I wouldn't ever dare to take my "sig-other" anywhere she feels she needs to bail..unless I was concerned for her safety. I would start off easy-working up to more technical riding. Build confidence in you and your skills..and the machine's abilities. Its going to be a very different machine with a second person on it then just one...and you need to be ready for those differences.

we do ... errr will be...
the short rides that we have done have been real good. She just has to get used to being a "participant" not just a passenger. Once she figures that out which she has just about done it will be more enjoyable to take longer runs. As far as the suspension goes, I haven't messed with the suspension settings at all but it feels really good the way it is now (stock). It is a noticeable difference when you don't have a passenger aboard but I don't think I will mess with it just to ride by myself not that its a big deal and all. Other than that I don't have much to report. By the end of the summer i will check back and add to this if there are any other findings.

I have the 800XC. My wife and I have ridden it a couple of times, nothing too rough.  She enjoyed it, appreciated the location of the hand holds.  We had sat on several Polaris 2up machines and she sat on this one in the show room and immediately said it was much more comfortable.  I can't say I could tell an appreciable difference with her on the back.  I'm sure there was, but I don't remember it being horrible.  We are both very "plump" and it handled the load very well.  As the driver, I can say that there is a world of difference with a passenger on a machine made for 2, we had ridden a couple times 2up on my Kawasaki Prairie 650 and that wasn't overly comfortable.

About a week ago, we had our first, big ride.  It was 91 miles and nearly 8 hours.

It was a little hard on both of us, but the experience overwhelmed the fatigue.  Awesome Ride.

This last week, we 2-up rode our first 50" trails up on Grand Mesa Colorado.  It was a new experience for the wife, as it got very rough and challenging, but she learned over time that "our little mule", just crawls through, even the nastiest of stuff.

We are going to have so much fun on this dude going forward.
