X800 won't turn over
« on: May 10, 2024, 09:31:07 PM »
rode my x800 and ran good for about 4 miles, went to park it and it stalled and started smoking and shooting fluid out of the radiator overflow hose, now it won't turn over, did I burn the motor fast or is their something else to check?

Sounds like a blown head gasket. Pull the spark plugs and see if it will turn over and if so, and coolant shoots out the hole(s), drain the oil fast and don't try it again. It will need to go in or a top end rebuild.

Took spark plug out but still doesn't turn over, checked oil and that seems ok, defiantly no coolant in radiator or overflow tank, any other suggestions?

Narrow it down a little farther by pulling the belt cover and putting it in neutral, then grab the primary and try turning it. With it having a wet clutch it should rotate. Now pull the fan cover on the other side and try turning the fan. That is attached directly to the crank. If it won't rotate, its locked up and that means she has a real problem...one that will involve a re-manufacture / rebuild. This all assumes the battery is well charged and the starter system is fully functional.

Got ahold of Nflow today and they don't rebuild these engines but they can get the engine for $3995 plus installation, this is really high in my opinion and my machine isn't worth that much, but will keep trying any suggestions.

Well..X8..at best that makes it a 2013. Not worth much. Might be time to send it to recycle or part it out. Sure don't want to spend 4K on a 500-dollar machine.
