EPS Vertical Play in Shaft
« on: September 11, 2018, 11:41:39 AM »
have been noticing an audible clunk lately, even when giving a good shot of throttle and the front end lifts. after a lot of poking around I noticed I have fairly significant (imo) play in the eps shaft. where the steering stem makes bolts over the stem coming out of the eps box, if I pull up on the handle bars the shaft coming out of the EPS box moves up and down just shy of half inch. I don't recall feeling this play while driving up until recently. im at 500 miles or so now. anyone else experience this. im told by the dealer over the phone that this was an issue in the pre 2018 models but it has been addressed. not addressed on my 2018 I guess? any thoughts here? anything I can do myself with relative ease to avoid a trip to the dealer?

Sorry no update per day. I left it alone and it’s been fine for like 800 miles since my original post. I looked at other friends bikes and different brands and it feels like some play that’s probly within spec. I get like if I had it replaced it would happen again. Left it alone and no issues.
