« on: March 01, 2020, 12:29:40 PM »
Hello, cfclan
my power steering wheel doesnt work. Dont really know where to start to look. Dealer told me that i should buy a New EPS module? Can anybody help me with the failure code? Cant really read out what that blinking digits mean.

EPS light in dashboard is flashing 3 times slow and after 2 times fast.
I uploaded video also.

Thank you!

I have a Cfmoto cforce 800 eps 2017, and the eps light is blinking and the eps does not work i was driving around and the steering became hard and it didn't work anymore, how can I troubleshoot this issue? I think the error code is 25. Any help would be appreciated.

I recently purchased a 2016 Force 800 and am getting error code 32.  I have changed the Relay, 40 amp fuse and the EPS ECU (not cheap) however I am still getting the code and the power steering does not work at idle.  I haven't tried to see if it works when the ATV is being driven since the front cover is still off etc...  Any additional thoughts on what could be causing the issue?  To say this is frustrating would be an understatement...  Thanks!

Code 32="Motor power-assistance abnormal" which means the motor isn't doing what it should. It could be a power supply issue yes, but it could also be a bad motor, torque sensor or ECU...except that was replaced. I would test the power supply to the motor with the key on and pressure on the bars. Try each way. If you do not get 12 volts, then look to things like the torque sensor or the motor power supply fuse and it's holder..yes the fuse holder. CFM has has many that have has internal connection failures. If it has power, then it's likely the motor itself had a problem.

I was worried you would say that.  :-). I will test the power with a volt meter today and report back on the results.  Can you share where the Torque sensor is located so I can take a look at that as well please?  Thank you!

The torque sensor senses the pressure you are putting on the handlebars which tells the controller how much voltage to send to the motor and which way.. so it is in the top part of the P/S unit. It will be the only other set of wires going to the unit other then the motor set. How to test them...I do not know. Maybe the manual will say.

Thank you!  I pulled the eps motor and applied pressure to the handle bars. The motor did not move.  Looking for pins to probe the wires from the torque sensor and into the motor to see where the power is failing. A new motor is $1000 for just the part according to the shop I go through.  Yikes!

*note, first photo is the motor, and the second photo is the torque sensor in case anyone else is new to the EPS on these things like I am…

I think I would unbolt the torque sensor and see if there was any obvious damage. There's a little bar that gets broken sometimes on others like Kawasaki.

I will do that!  Thanks.  the error code doesn't start flashing until I put pressure on the handlebars either left or right so I am thinking the sensor is working and it is probably the motor.  I will check that bar and also put probes in the power cables for the motor to be sure though before I drop $1000 on a new motor.

Looking at more parts diagrams, I think I see why it's $1000.  it looks like part number 9CR6-103300-20000 is the whole assembly including the electric motor and torque sensor, so that explains the cost I guess...  Doesn't look like I can purchase just the electric motor or the sensor separately.

Yeah looks like a complete unit. Might try ebay for a used one if necessary but I would rule-out everything else first.
