Long story short, my winch was jammed, I took it off of the machine and took it completely apart to unwind it.
Now when I re-assemble it, the locking mechanism doesnt engage, it's just loose which means the winch can't wind/unwind.

I'm not really sure what I did wrong, i feel like I put it back together the same way it came apart. Any manuals on the inner workings or advice welcome.

Has to be something in the head section. Here's the company that makes the OE winches for CFM. Maybe you can get a manual on one from them.
