I have a 2023 CFMoto Cforce 800 XC ATV. I wanted to add a sound bar on it so I installed a Exogear Sound Extreme 26' Sound bar. It is installed and connected directly to the battery. So I went riding and it kept powering off on me. It cut off about 20 times and so I started to troubleshoot. I assumed it was a loose connection and noticed the two plugs that you connect the wires from the battery to the sound bar the metal lead was cracked and it even broke off. So I was like cool, easy fix. I will splice the cables and bypass the connectors. That is what I did and I went riding again. Lasted about 20 minutes and it started powering off again. Very frustrating to say the least. So after further troubleshooting i started to notice that anytime I accelerated on the bike it would power the speaker completely off. It didn't happen every time, but say I went riding 20 to 30 times. So now I'm thinking this is some kind of voltage issue where it is giving the speaker too much voltage or not enough. I kind of think it is a power spike and the speaker is cutting off. I'm no electrician and this is the first four wheeler I have ever owned. We are going to try and put a voltmeter on it and see what the results are. Just reaching out to see if anyone has any advice or seen this before?

My gut says if the supply and ground are correct then the problem is within the unit and it should be returned...but now that a connector has been deleted that may not be an option. There shouldn't be any..or enough of a voltage spike to cause an issue but check anyway. And if by chance a problem is found and fixed might re-think going directly from the battery. Maybe use a relay between instead if nothing else. Might think of using the accessory circuit. Its fused and keyed power. Just thinking out loud.

I second nmk to a relay or switched power it’s your best bet

I have found multiple electronics
Turn off when directly connected to the battery
Due to the voltage irregularities
Many don’t care but some a 2v jump will make them shut down

Could also be the speaker amp over heating you could connect to a car charger an play the hell out of it an see

Update: Found out the issue. There was a dongle with a fuse hanging down by the battery. Weird place, but we took it out and it was broke. Replaced the fuse and no issues ever since.
