Front plastic removal
« on: July 03, 2021, 12:23:20 PM »
Hi Everyone

new member to the forum and a proud 800XC owner (at least after sorting out the cutting out)

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to remove the front plastics to be able to access the sterring column. I know how delicate the plastics are so don't waht to damge anything?

Welcome. Hopefully someone has done it and can help. Otherwise the service manual usually have that information.

unfortunately the service manual I downloaded isn't for the 2021 model and its different, I cant find one online, I'm not sure why they didn't put this info in owners manual.

I've done the plastics on my 2019, which I'm sure is different.  All I can advise is to be careful and look for clips where you would not necessarily think they would be.  On mine it was quite a process, but I replaced both front and rear fenders.

Check you tube Really Talk Powe sport. His channel is all cfmoto and he's got a video where he does a cannistwr delete and removes the front plastics. You pull the lower sides off first then pop up but it's easier to watch it done.

I watch there YouTube channel but I haven't seen a video on removing the front plastics that I need to remove to access the steering column.
However I did have another look at it today and it looks like I maybe able to access it by just removing the plastic in the wheel wells so will give it ago when I get a tool to pop up those plastic poppers
