Seems to have fixed it!
No problems today

Was the temperature outside over 21 Celsius? Did you take it out for at least 30 miles?

I rode about 175KM and it was almost 40C with the humidex. I'm dying. Machine performed like a champ the whole time.

First time I felt 100 confident on this machine, I'm very happy with the canister bypass fix!

Thanks

Seriously glad to hear this!! Did you notice any small pauses in the throttle which made you worry it was going to stall but it didn't?

No, not anymore... It's completely gone.

It did that all the time before the fix.

I'm convinced it's fixed. It's like a new machine.

Congrats on the fix! I was the one who posted the original dealers fix but it got pulled down. I'm glad it sparked this new thread of discussions to get you where you needed to be which is happy with your machine.

First time out for a decent ride after doing the mod. 95F heat index 105F. Up and down rocky steep hills in 4x4 and slow going. It preformed excellent!
Constant riding for about 3 hours in woods so limited air flow.  The radiator fan was working hard...but NO hot stall!!

That is now 3 of us who can confirm capping off the evap hose, whether at the throttle body or the canister, fixes the hot stall issue. Good times ahead!

I recently bought a 2019 800XC.  While I have not noticed the stalling I do get the pausing.  Right now it's stripped in the garage undergoing a full cleaning.  Not sure who the original owner was but they rode it hard in the mud and never cleaned the thing.  I'm going to do this fix as well.

Thanks to all who gave input on this issue! I purchased a 2021 800xc and first long ride at normal speeds and conditions it started stalling and was hard to start. I am still under 20 hours and was going to take it to the dealer but after reading all the great information I think I'll fix it myself.

Once again; thanks and stay safe all.

So my 2021 800XC with 7hrs and 67 miles that is less than a month old is doing the same thing Gonna be capping that off tomorrow!

This fix seems to be the cure for this problem for sure 8). Did a 40 mile ride and not a single hick up!
I did not unhook the line at the carb though. I unhooked it at the canister and plugged the line there.
Need to find some kind of filter to keep the crud out of the open hole on the canister/tank vent.
I want to keep it stock as possible in case i have to take it back to the dealer for anything and leaving it all there till warranty is up seems like a good idea so i can easily put it back to stock.
