Stator
« on: September 22, 2022, 11:18:11 AM »
I have 2013 c force 600. Not charging. Bought new battery.  Installed volt meter on dash direct form battery. No change in voltage when rpms increased...I assumed voltage regulator.. Replaced voltage regulator.. Still not charging.  Removed stator today.. It looks burned to me. But I have not experience with what a"burned" stator looks like?
Is this a burned out stator? Pics attached

Yeah..its the worst I have ever seen. Usually 2 or three coils, not 13. While there check the rotor for contact points and the crank main bearing for any movement. If any of either, replace.

Replacing the stator on my c force 600.  It sure looks like a hose is supposed to be connected to the back side of the water pump, but I can't find the hose anywhere.  I would like someone to tell me it's a "vent" hose but clearly it is not!  I just spent one hour crawling around quad looking for a loose hose in the area but simply can't find one.  Clearly something is supposed to be v connected to the brass connection

Relax...it's just a weep port. It allows any leakage of either the mechanical seal on the water pump or..the oil seal on the other side of the weep chamber to get out of the chamber so the fluids won't effect or penetrate each other. Mine doesn't even have that nipple on it..just a hole. You can put just a tube on it and run it straight down so any drip-age won't get on anything but..don't worry about it too much.

Stator replaced and charging issue is fixed. Volt meter shows 14.1 when reving.
Now all my dash lights are on. No fault code flashing. Speedometer says 100km/h all the time. Temp and gas gauge at 0, says 4WD and diff locked?? I checked all plugs under front hood. All solid. Quad runs fine.
How do I reset computer? I'm thinking because quad had no battery for a while it needs computer reset?
Any other suggestions?

Low voltage or voltage spikes damage things like the ECU and the pod/dash. Did you ever jump it or put cables on wrong once? Pull the negative terminal for 30 seconds and re-connect it. Also, that stator may have had a negative effect on that new battery so have it load tested.

Thanks for reply.  I have boosted the bone with power pack. Never put terminals on wrong.
After removing negative terminal for half hour, put it back and now no dash lights.  Gear indicator, and indicators work. But nothing on odometer , temp or speedometer now.  Hmmmm
I get solid 14 volts when revedd and high beams and working winch. Other than no dash lights, quad is working correctly
