I have something strange going on with my newly acquired 2014 CF500-5B.   Bought at supposedly 251 miles, I put 1.5 miles on it.   One morning at next startup, it was back to 251 miles and the clock was showing the wrong time.   I reset the clock and set the trip meter to display.   I put on 0.4 miles.  This morning at startup, the first attempt to start stalled after one or two firings.   The odometer display then went though a cycling of the numbers 111111.., 22222..., etc, then displayed the trip meter and it was back to 0.0 miles and the clock was reading 12:00!  Started fine the next attempt and ran normally adding 0.5 miles to the trip meter.
Anyone seen this before and know what's going on?

Still not figured this out.
I put in a new GEL battery to replace to leaky lead acid, but the mileage resetting problem still occurs at a cold start.  In fact, it has reset the mileage after one warm start too.
I emailed CFMOTO USA and they just told me to take it to a dealer.  Unfortunately, there's isn't one that's close enough and I don't have a trailer to haul it anyway.
I'm wondering if it's a grounding issue, but I haven't found where that is yet and that would normally affect the starter cranking ability, which is fine.  Still don't understand why 251 miles and not 0.

I'm having to keep a mental note of the miles I've put on it as this ATV never ages!

Are you sure its the odometer that you are looking at and not something else? I know there is s 3-digit number that comes up at the bottom of the Z's display when holding the two buttons in and turning on the key. But that's the speedometer calibration. Maybe it's a code for something else.

Yes, it's certainly the odometer.  This model is pretty basic and has no calibration options.

Looks like I solved the display issue on the CFMOTO!
I saw a comment on FB, where a guy mentioned pulling the 20A main fuse (he called it the starter relay fuse) with the ignition on can "reboot" the EFI and reset some non-starting issues that another guy was having. That got me thinking since the problem seemed to occur with the high current draw when cold starting primarily and appearing to affect the display/computer - perhaps starving it of power.
I removed the plug that covers the fuse and found that the display is no longer powered with the ignition on. That plug feeds the rest of the circuits downstream when the ignition is on and not if the fuse is removed or the plug removed. So that could explain why the display temporarily loses power on starting.
The plug looked a little dirty inside, but the electrical spades were good. I applied some Vaseline to them and made/broke the connection several times.
Voila! On a cold or hot start, the display remains powered up and doesn't cycle. The clock and mileage have remained good after a couple cold starts.

I figured out the clock, now how to you set the odometer to miles from kilometers.
