CForce 500S Jerky at slow speeds
« on: April 25, 2023, 11:52:56 AM »
Looking for some advise or ideas. I have 50.9 hours and 379.1 miles on the machine. Idles @1500 RPM when warm. (yes we service ourselves & yes well taken care of) Yesterday took it out and at low speed, low gear it was giving me a jerky ride. I thought it may have been my thumb on the accelerator, but it was not.
Once I reached 10, 11 MPH it seemed to smooth out. But at the lower speeds it was almost unbearable. Had another rider try it and they got the same results.

Not sure what to look for, but don't want to take it to be serviced without some idea as to what to look for/at. Anyone else experience this? and if so, how did you resolve?

Most often it is a clutch or belt problem. With 50 hours on it has the clutches ever been serviced and cleaned? If not, probably time to do so. The CVTech clutches are nice but they get fussy when they aren't serviced regular. Also while there look for glazing on the belt's contact areas. If found you will need a new one. Look for scaring or wear on the sheaves as well.
