Take out the pump assembly and see if you can find any part numbers on it you can match against.

So it was definitely the fuel pump. Bought one for 20 bucks and now it runs even better. Except now the battery is not charging.. Any ideas

Loose connection someplace? Bad regulator? Bad stator?

Start at the regulator and work forward or back from there depending on what's going on.
