Roll Over
« on: February 07, 2017, 07:03:18 PM »
Hey guys...had a little incident with my 2016 500 HO not long ago. I managed to slowly roll it over on the handle bars, luckily I was able to get out of the way in time so no worries there but it took me about 5 minutes to get it right side up again. During this time the auto shut off kicked in after a few seconds and turned the machine off. Once right side up she started right up and blew a little smoke for a second along with a slight burning smell. After adjusting the handle bars back into position and a few small scrapes on the plastic everything was fine. When I got home I noticed some oil in the air filter box. I cleaned it out and checked the oil which was low...so I added more. My question is can the front and rear axle oil leak out and if so how can I check this? Also is there anything else I should inspect? The machine only has 53 miles on it so it hasn't even had it's first oil change yet. Thanks

Both the housings have vent tubes on the top that go up and are fixed somewhere high. Follow them and if you don't see any oil on the ends, all is well. You can also just pull the filler plugs and check the level.
