Question On MPG
« on: March 15, 2017, 11:12:33 PM »
Just purchased a 2017 500s and was wondering what the "average" range is.  Yes, I realize that it all depends on the terrain, speed, gear selection. But would like to get a general idea.  Not looking to purchase a Rotopax if I don't have to.  Most of the clubs rides average around 50 miles

50kms is no problem,
Last trip we were on I used less then the 400.
130km I topped up with my 10l and still had fuel left. maybe 2-3l
These were mountain kms, running between Myanmar and Northern Thailand.
If it has Pistons or Tits you will encounter problems.

I calculate my mileage after most rides and have found mine to get just under 30 miles per gallon.  That is with some pretty spirited riding as well.

My last trip with my 500 HO I got about 22 MPG and that was through some pretty rough stuff.  Very slow going and rocky.  I'd imagine if I was able to hold it at 20+MPH you could easily see 30 MPG.

My 500 HO eps is new. We got 140 plus miles out of the 5 gallon tank. Fuel indicator was blinking when we got back home. That was two up with food, drinks, and other items fully packed. Just did first oil change, added expanded rear rack and will add rear box soon. Just ordered Highlifter shock coils to swap out the rear OEM....hopefully that will improve the weak rear suspension.

Actual mpg is very dependent on driving style. No matter how I drive tho my butt gets sore long before I run out of gas lol!

my 500s uses nearly 1L/10km  of fuel on road. Off roads it depends wery much on the terrain
