Agreed NMK if it's that fresh, I'm sure it's just needs a new sensor! Warranty!!!!!!!!
If it has Pistons or Tits you will encounter problems.

Yeah..it's provably something simple..and we'er over-thinking it. The oil pressure warning is just on or off. The flashing may come from the ECU and for a reason. I still think because I don't see a separate maintenance light in the diagram that the light may double for that...but it's also tied into the tach as well..so..I may have it all wrong.

I would remove the sensor blow it out with low pressure air and reinstall.
Wire unplugged, engine running = no light?
Wire unplugged , engine running, no ground the wire, flashing?
This sensor can get stuff stuck in them and on the 500 engine don't like to be filled to high with oil.
I have seen many overfilled or right on the full line and the sensor grounds out an turn the light on.
If after you have tried blowing out the sensor and still acting up, change it out and I'm very sure the problem will be gone.

Yes with it unplugged the light stays off when running. I'll give this a try. But the oil is clean and not overfilled. Thanks.

I say take it in and tell them fix this fk'er ...and it better not cost me anything.
With the shottie work my local dealer has done they will never touch anything I own again. Last time I got it back it was more screwed up than when they got it and they didn't even fix what I payed them to fix. Also I got it back missing several bolts and screws and a couple of the rubber body grommets. Also cross thread one of the body bolts. It's low miles but passed the one year warranty.

One thing is for sure, I'm now a pro at body panel removal. So tried grounding it out while running and the light flashes. I removed it and cleaned it out with brakeclean and low pressure air. But the light still flashes when the engine is warm. I guess the next step is to try replacing it.

I've been through the service and the owner's manual now and see nothing regarding maintenance service reminder nor anything regarding a flashing oil pressure indicator. Its either on...or off. Flashing isn't an option for the 500HOs. Other things can flash like the MIL or EPS warning lights though. I'm just stumped...

You and me both. I was going through the service manual again and looking at the oil diagram it looks like the pressure regulator is by the oil filter. I may try taking it apart too. But I'm still ordering the new switch.

Yeah I guess I would have to at least replace the switch too...  The oil filters have a by-pass built into them so if they ever get so dirty it makes pressure, it will open. That's all I know of with them. Pressure relief valves are usually very close to the pumps...first thing on the pressure side.

On the oil diagram, that #2, which they call a decompressor is that pressure relief.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking it is. It's not far from the oil pump. And it looks like it's accessible from outside the motor. I'm on my way back home now so, I'll let you know what I find.

Not to make you seem like you did it wrong, but try the oil change reset again.
1)Turn key completely off
2)hold both buttons on the display
3)get someone to turn key on while continuing to hold the buttons.
4)Try a couple times
If that doesn't work you will need a new Prss switch, I have not seen the pressure reliefs go on these engines (1-2) in thousands.
Speaking of Kawasaki , their Atv/utv run a similar press switch (thread pitch/bore) you could try that before ordering a cf one. The connection maybe different but it will answer the question on switch. and should bee easy to source.
If it has Pistons or Tits you will encounter problems.

My hands are big enough to push both buttons completely with one hand and turn the key with the other. I tried it 4 times earlier but I can try a few more.
And are you suggesting not opening the relief valve? I was going to check for any foreign material that could be keeping it open too far.
There is no chance dirty oil is a factor cause oil and filter have been replaced 3 times now. Changed at about 50 miles along with both diff's then again at about 150 miles for good measure. I was planning to go to 500 mile intervals until this happened. So it got changed yesterday at 285 miles. Needless to say the inside of this motor is clean and shiny.

Well I believe then you have followed it to the switch.

By all means open the pressure relief, you never know, this is Cfmoto.
I hope you can find it and get a smile back on your face.
Good luck with it.

I couldn't help myself. I just had to take it apart. It was wicked easy. The spring is in good shape and everything is nice and clean. No foreign objects. I also tried the reset 6 more times without and result.

Wow...that is easy. Hate to say it but there are some Japanese companies that could learn from this..

I got the new oil pressure switch in. The light didn't come intermediately when cold. I let it get up to temp and still no light. Hopefully that fixed it. I haven't ridden it yet. Maybe I'll get time this weekend.

On a side note my local dealer twisted v strikes again. I ordered front brake pads with the pressure switch. They originally quoted me under $14 per set, I thought it was a great price. When it came time to pick them up they were over $30 per set. I thought, o well the quote sounded cheap anyway. So I tell them I wanted them anyway. Then guess what… "I'm sorry we only have one set left."  ??? :o ::) >:( really
