Oil Pressure Light Flashing
« on: August 17, 2022, 09:40:02 AM »
Just purchased a 2018 CForce 500 HO, 980 miles.  Took it out a couple times and the Oil Pressure light started flashing.  No smoke, no change in performance.  Checked oil and it was a little low so I added about 1/3 quart of oil.  Still flashing.  Checked oil pressure sensor, blew it out as mentioned on this forum.  Still flashing.  Thought I read somewhere that it may be an "Oil Change Indicator", but can't find anything about this in the manuals.  Any help on my next step would be much appreciated.

There were no 2018 CForce 500s built for the US market. It has to be a 2017 or a 2019. If it is titled as a 2018, the dealer falsified the documents. With that said, the first step is to confirm weather want you are seeing is the oil change reminder or the low oil pressure light. Sense they quit using the oil change light on most models in 2016, if this is your dash...and its a 2017, and #6 is what you see, it is the oil pressure warning. You need to pull the pressure sensor and install an actual gauge to see what it actually is. If it is withing the limits set forth in the service manual, just replace the sending unit. If not, at it is actually low, you have bigger problems. May be a failing pressure regulator, pump...or rod bearings...

It is a 500 HO, does this make any difference?  I can't find a part number for the oil sensor, can you point me in the right direction.  Thanks

Any CFM parts house..like Alpha-sports.com or cfmotousaparts.com and you may find the 2018 but it was re-branded 2017s and early 2019s....same parts. I strongly suggest testing the actual pressure first. Many had actual low pressure issues.
