I'm really struggling where I can find an after-market oil filter...does anyone know if there is one?

The canam filters seemed to be a good match for awhile but some initial measurements showed some slight differences. We will need to get more info before we can recommend using them. NMKawirider was doing some research on this. I own a canam and will post what I find for filter dimensions when I change my oil. For now use the cfmoto filters, sorry.

For the Can Am cartridge filter in an 800, I say it's a NO because of the looseness of the seal to the port nipple being over 1mm larger then the CFM filter. It may by-pass some and even more as the filter become dirtier and more restrictive. It's possible but unknown if the K&N filter for the C/A fits any tighter. The rest of the dimensions are fine. If the 500 uses the same cartridge I have to say order two at a time from Alpha Sports and keep one in stock at all times until we officially have a filter that is listed for the CFM or we have a usable spin-on conversion.

I don't know if this applies to the 500 or not but, I use a K&N KN-152 in my Z800 EX.
