Hi All,
I live in Minnesota and bought a 2016 CFORCE 500 HO and commented on Kencar's post. I am starting a new one in hopes to see if there is anyone in the US that is experiencing this sudden drop off in RPM below 4000 RPM. I have uploaded some videos of my issue on YouTube. I will list three of the four I posted. The fourth can be found on my channel but it is a comparison between my Polaris 570 and my CFORCE 500.
I quit on my first dealer because we just did not mix well together. I brought it to another CFMOTO dealer that just became a CFMOTO dealer in January 2016. They are in a large ranch and agriculture area in a neighboring state that is pretty close to where I live. They have close to every brand available. They are a much larger dealer than the first one I bought the unit from.
I brought the unit three weeks ago to them and they have worked on it a good solid week and have given up on it. I have read reports from owners in Canada that the dealers there were aware of the issue and have had success in fixing the herky jerky drivability issue.
I am picking it up tomorrow and bringing it back home. It has been to the trails of the Black Hills this year and was new in late April. 300 miles on it. It has never changed. Very hard to ride on the trails or when I herd livestock.
Here are the links to my videos.
I can't accept that this is normal operation. Does anyone from CFMOTO China scan these posts?
I need help that CFMOTO USA has not provided.
Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin quick question of topic is this cforce the eps model and so does it work great ?

Yes it is a 2016 CFORCE 500 HO EFI with two up seating. If you mean the Electronic Power Steering yes it works fine so far. If not the EPS what do you mean? is there a problem with the EPS units on these ATVs? If so I want to know. If there is I think maybe I bought a "Lemon"

Hello All, Still no word from CFMOTO USA on what they are going to do with my drivability issue. My ATV is still at a very competent dealer waiting on what to do next from CFMOTO. Looks like CFMOTO's main thrust is to get these ATVs into the hands of as many customers in the US as they can get while being totally clueless on how to fix issues as they arise. I guess this should be considered par for this course knowing customer service in America has gone down the crapper. I am not talking about the dealer I have the ATV at. I am talking about CFMOTO and others like them...

WOW!!!!!!!   We had the low speed drivability issue with all of the 6 C500s we sold and the 3 in stock.  Just dropped the idle on three 2016 C force 500 HOs, to 1350-1400 rpms.  Low speed drivability issue GONE.  Can't tell you how or why.  Don't really care at this point.  Amazing results and an easy fix.

This "Easy Fix" did not work on mine. Why did they let these out of the factory with this issue. Unreal. I so wish I would have bought something else. I just want CFMOTO to fix mine, replace it or give me my money back so I can buy something that runs right. It has 300 miles on it and I only was able to use it for two months. I tried to trade it in but I can't afford to lose $2000.

Sorry to hear that.  I did the same exact thing to 3 on the lot.  I called all 6 customers that I sold them to and told them that we had a fix.  Two have come in since and it worked on there machines.  There must be something odd about yours.  Your throttle free play is loose enough where its allowing the idle to drop down to 1400 or so?

Not good. About 75 percent better but now it takes off in reverse without giving it any throttle. Very dangerous to drive now.

Update?!?!

Brought it home from the dealer. I let it sit outside overnight on my pickup truck and unloaded it this morning. I had problems with it yesterday at the dealer and it almost ran away on me in reverse. It happened twice to me within about five minutes. I was very leery of unloading it using ramps so I let it idle for about a minute watching the RPMs. I backed it off the pickup truck with no issues.
I drove it this afternoon watching the RPMs as I started it. It never raced on me. I drove it and it runs so good now. No issues at slow speeds now.
Thanks
Kevin

Is the idle adjustment what is prescribed as "TPS adjustment" in the "service bulletin" mentioned in this http://cfmoto-forum.com/cforce-500-h-o/cf-force-500-ho-low-speed-driving/msg10485/#msg10485 thread regarding the same issue?

I just got my brand new Cforce 550 a couple of days ago and it's suffering from the same problem at low RPM. (<4000 aprox.), and my idle speed is around 1700-1750 (regardless of engine temp.), gonna try the idle adjustment before taking it back to the dealer.. long drive!  :( fingers crossed.

I can't speak for the OP's time table on why it took so long for his machine to be remedied. Its a straight forward adjustment if the machine is having the driving behavior of intermittent high idle, idle at 1750 or bad driving behavior below 4k rpm.

On another note, this issue seems to spark the debate of driving the machine in Low. People saying that you shouldn't "have to", regardless of this driving behavior, I would be running my machine in low if I was putting around at 6-8 mph for a extended period of time.

Was setting the idle very difficult? I would like to try this on my machine. Can you provide me some direction on how to? Do the side plastics need to come off or can I get to the adjustment area with the seat off? This is a screw that I should be looking for correct?

Thanks in advance
