I don't see anything right off. Let's get a look on the other side. Look real close at the solder joints for cracks or bad solder. Non lead solder sucks. Caused me a lot of problems in the past

And also cosmodan remember my video I posted where I had 2-1 second flashes of the eps light on the dash well with the eps controller detached I do not get any warning lights on the dash would this suggest there must be something wrong with this part cheers ?

Here are pictures of back :)

I don't see any burnt traces or leaking caps. It looks like the white box is a relay. When you start to get into the surface mounted items, I'm not much help. Have you ruled out any wiring problems yet? Too bad you couldn't swap a known good one to see if the box is the offender. I have not had to deal with EPS problems yet and am not sure how much more help I can be. I think the output for the eps light is from the box so unplugging it will keep it off.

Check the part numbers match before you try it. I'm still trying to find info on the eps in one of the manuals but it might be it's own.

I was looking at some similar eps units. Seems if the electrical connections are good than most of the time the torque sensor is to blame.  If swapping the ecu doesn't do it, might be the sensor in the main unit.

Hi again just back from my dads where I swapped over the controller with still the same results tried my unit on my dad's and it's working perfect so we now no it's not the controller or ecu as I have tried that before I think maybe some loose wire somewhere or as you say the torque sensor is the next step bud

That's progress. I'm not sure how to check that sensor. I would think it's similar to automotive ones.

Hi bud I have checked cables for obvious breaks in wire still to test them thow I have the bike back to bare bones i.e. No plastics and it's not getting rebuilt until I fix the problem lol

Sounds like an open, or loose connection point.

My guess would be in the eps unit itself. If it is like some other ones than it works by magnetic field, measuring the deflection. I still have not found a manual on the eps. I think it is a separate manual if it exists. Can't find any information in all the manuals I have

Yep, torque sensors are in the main PS unit itself as it needs to sense input direction and force. There will be wires going into a cover above the motor..in fact it's the only other thing wires go to other then the motor.
