Has anyone had this problem?  my 2016 machine only has 300 miles on it and the right rear tail light is OUT on the muffler side.  I tested the connection and its def. getting juice, just seems that the whole tail unit is dead.  Seems kinda fishy that its on the muffler side, because it gets insanely hot.  Any other people had this issue or a fix?

You have checked the lightbulb socket for power too? I have had sockets melt on a few things I own. If there is any sign if that, best to replace the harness or assembly if you can. See if the melting came from outside or the electrical connection. Bad connection will show up as blacked plastic at the terminals.

yes it has power in the harness...just seems that the UNIT is dead

It just clicked that you have a sealed led unit. Out side of checking the socket, I think your right. Maybe a bit of that shiny heat tape is called for.
