2020 CForce 500 HO low speed drive-ability issues still
« on: August 31, 2020, 11:33:50 AM »
So its 2020 and CFMoto and some of its dealers still haven't corrected or want to correct the low speed drive ability issues related to the CF500 HO. I have, or should I say had the same issues as all of you have posted about, some posts as far back as 2017. I seriously considered getting rid of it and going to a Polaris when I eventually came across the posts on this site all stating the same things I was bitching about, AWESOME.
My dealers response when I asked about not being able to maintain a smooth ride under 4000 RPM was that "all new ATV's are like that" and wanted nothing more to do with it. He suggested to try tuning the clutch, and I thought maybe the EBS one-way bearing and even posted a thread asking for help or info. Nope that wasn't it either, as it turns out its just an extremely difficult to access idle set screw and a couple of hours of my time that has the problem fixed. It rides great at low speed making things a lot more enjoyable ride on the trails.
Just wanted to let everyone know the issue still exists in 2020 and the fix is right here on this forum.
Thanks to all who contributed to the original post and found an fairly easy resolve to a problem that should have been, at the very least corrected at the dealer.
Thanks again, much appreciated.
