Title: Looking for Idea to get better forward power
Post by: casper01 on September 02, 2023, 04:21:56 PM
I bought my Son a CFmoto 110 and in reverse the bike has all kinds of power and will spin the tires. In forward, if the bike is on a slight incline, it needs a push to get going. I've seen videos and other people complaining about this issue on my search, but I have not been able to find anything to resolve the issue. I'm wondering if others have found a solution to this problem? Different Clutches? Sprockets?

As I recall the 110 uses just a centrifugal clutch and from what I have heard, in reverse the gear ratio is cut in half making it like low range but in forward its geared too high for the power it has..especially during take-off. The 110 has so little power it would be hard to find it's power band but in theory it would be much higher then where they have the clutch engage. So...stouter springs on the shoes is what you will need to try. Where to get them...well that's a mystery although a company call Scooter Assassins sells this type of clutch performance parts as well as Dr Pulley. You need to increase your "stall" by about 600 rpms. Might have to talk to them directly on what springs to get...if they have any....and assuming it uses springs. The alternative is to make the shoes lighter...by about 8-10 grams each by taking material off the base not the contact shoe (guessing).  Otherwise can always take it back and get your son something a little bigger he can grow into.
