CForce 1000 Overland Belt replacement
« on: May 18, 2023, 03:51:33 PM »
Does anyone have any recommendations / experience with CVT belt replacements.
I'm looking at the following:

Gates - Redline 40R3691 G FORCE BELT
Ultimax - Ultimax UA UA485
EPI - Severe Duty Belt - WE265040

The OEM just seems expensive. But is it worth it?

Thoughts?

From some experience from other manufacturers, Gates would be my last choice and only if I could get their "C" series belts. I would trust the Ultimax and of course anything by EPI any.. and all day long.

......
An experienced rider will not only know how to traverse most any terrain without stressing the machine but will also have a solid understanding on how a CVT system works and how to not let it slip, run hot or put it in situations that can & will damage it. Those guys don't need a spare on most any average ride. A newbe..better do his homework and get the basics before finding out the hard way...and he probably should take a spare...and the 5lbs of tools it takes to change a CFM belt.

You are spot on, but .... things happen.   When I would ride my multi-day motorcycle adventures, I would carry a couple of spare tubes.  I can see why it would be a bad idea to carry a spare belt and a little tool kit.

If I was going out for a several-day ride into no-where I would probably take an extra belt along...and a few tools too.
