Battery removal
« on: December 10, 2023, 04:56:45 AM »
I'm putting my machine up for the winter in cold storage.  I prefer to remove the battery.  When I took a look at my machine, there is a metal retaining strap bolted on, no problem with getting that off other than having about as much room as a loaded circus clown car to work in.  Under that there are two nylon strap as well, that look to be secured underneath the battery box, the only way that I can figure out that they went in like that was that the machine was assembled with the straps in place and all plastic bits were screwed on after.  I don't see any way to remove those nylon straps without completely taking the front end apart.  Is there some Super Secret CFMoto release switch that I'm not aware of?  Are those nylon straps simply a factory assembly oversight that was left on?  Can I just cut the straps to pull the battery or is Something Really Bad going to happen if I do?  I've ridden European motorcycles for years and seen some really weird engineering stuff, but this battery thing is a whole new thing.

Don't know about the straps but I leave mine in and plug it into a maintainer.

My battery has straps and that's how you lift it out. They were not attached any other way.
