How did you cut the metal so nicely?

Nice job.

I actually cut them with a pair of green handled tin snips.
Traced the pattern from the stock plastic one and cut along the lines then with my vice and a pair of small hand break (hand held kind) made the slight bend little more than 45* and finished it up with a. Dremmel to make it a little more smooth.

When I first got mine I was looking at those plastic ones and wondering how long that would last...and what some nice ones would look like made from metal... and now I know 

Took all of about 20 mins to make. 12x24 piece of diamond plate.
Lucky for me lowes put it in the wrong place and got it for $10.21.
Normally that sheet is about $31 still not to bad for a set of metal guards.
Thinking about putting a small bolt in the center of it that would stop it from bending back and chewing up the boot, just in case I miss seeing a rock or stump. Just being overly couscous maybe but just a thought in case you are making a set as well.

Good idea.

Think I figured out how to keep the new Cv guards more stable.
Made an inner plate to hold it from bending back. Now the whole a arm is covered. Used the diamond plate I had left and got some bolts and washers.
