Makes perfect sense to me. I know you said this before because I saw it but I can’t seem to find it again. What did you set your shocks too for compression and rebound if you remember. I’ve been trying to find the sweet spot on mine and was curious how far off I was from others

are you going to pay 436 bucks for EACH Chinese shock (that's $872.00 for a set of 2)

You can get a full set of 4 from China for under $600 if you shop around. You can get CFMOTO or YIT branded (YIT is usually cheaper).

So I got the springs in. I’ve only taken it for a quick spin so I’ll reserve judgement for now.  I’ll have to play with preload adjustments some I’m sure as they settle in. Right now I have them set to about 10.5” clearance  at the front diff shield and 10.25” at the hitch. How much do you guys think I could feasibly get without sacrificing ride quality? I know to stay somewhere near the middle of the travel range too

Sounds close but really should measure at the very front and the very back of the center plastic skid plate. With my 27" tires, I am 8.75" front and 9" rear with no one in it.

With the stock shocks I found the best spot was-Front compression (top knob) 1-2 clocks back from Fastest to fastest(valve wide open). Rebound for both the same (lower knob)- Center first, then 2-3 clicks toward SLOW. Some of the newer shocks have less then 13 clicks total travel so adjust accordingly.

I’ll take that measurement tomorrow in the light. I still have the stock tires with 300 miles so I’ll plan on a touch less than you probably. 1/2 inch less just to avoid that one response clarifying it lol

Yeah stock 26" tires cut a 1/2 inch off my measurements. You would be surprised how much stiffer they get just to get that 1/2-inch..lol

NMK you meant to say compression adjustment was 1-2 clicks toward fast from center right?

Nope..go full-fast, then 1 or2 clicks toward the slow. Best to start at Full open on the valve then one click at a time toward closing until you like it. Most like it full-open or fast. It's the softest.

ahh, ok I'll try that. I've been trying to dial this thing in for a few months now. Its getting to the point I cant tell if its helping  anymore. How much settling do you thinkI'll see with the new springs? Think I'll need to readjust preload much?

Not much. Mine only settled about 1/4" and only had to re-adjust the preload once. Hasn't changed sense then and that's been over 500 miles. Pretty good quality spring..unlike the CFMs which I had to keep cranking up every ride or two. But they were collapsing all the time so...
