I put a 2 inch lift from Prefex under my 800ex and most definitely will need to up my tire size.  Looks kind of goofy with the factory tires.  After several posts out there has there been a general rule of thumb or consensus as per what tire size for a 2 inch lift that looks the best and that doesn't cause too much power loss?  I thought about 27" inch but want to make sure I get it right, i don't want to buy something I will regret.

Well...most people install a lift because the tire size they want rubs without it. But some install a lift just for the ground clearance. I assume that's you. You can go up to 29s with no issues with the EX without a lift. Some do 30s. But all aftermarket tires...even the stock size will be heavier and cause power loss. The bigger..the more that is. If it were mine...I would stay with 28s or 29s now that it has that lift and re-clock the clutch appropriately. If it didn't have the lift...then I would stay with 27s or 28s. Still...they all need re-clocking anyway.

If i go with 29 inch what should I reclock to?  I was definitely going for ground clearance but dang my tires look alot smaller with just 2 inch lift.

alot depends on different brand tires and wheels. I was running 28" mega mayhems on cf rims then switched to the 28x10x14"sedona mud rebel rt with sedona 14x7 rims on all 4 corners, sedonas are almost an inch taller measuring in at almost 29"

Truer words never spoken. As discussed in past times, the CF's factory chosen CVT upshift parameters hold the motor to a lower RPM than is optimal for performance, so that the RPM curve is below the power curve.
