Windshield question
« on: May 25, 2017, 09:00:16 PM »
I just bought a super atv windshield for my zforce trail. The instructions say it doesn't recommend keeping the windshield on while transporting i guess cause it's Velcro straps holding it down. I get that going 70mph down the highway could be dangerous, but I'm curious if anyone keeps the windshield on transporting going around 40 or 50 mph?

My old 1/2 shield had Velcro straps and I ran 70+ with it..no problems. My new flip is different and don't worry about it either. Those Velcro straps are tougher then you think. Just make sure they are tight...no slack ..no flop'n around.

Is there any speed limitation on the flip windshield running it in the open position?     I have not researched this question yet, but thought I would ask on this new windshield post.

Heck, My DIY top 1/2 windshield that ONLY has one metal strap around the roll bar in the middle handles being transported, as does my factory lower 1/2 and I know that they both handle 62mph while driving.

Yes, just common sense though. Up mine sets slightly up from the 1/2-way point so it catches air more then if it was straight out. At about 30mph I see it bowing in the middle a little and can't pull it down with one hand easily so I limit it to 20mph tops. I also don't leave it open when on real rough trails or when a tree branch could catch it.

The SuperAtv half windshield does have a tendency to creep upward, but I wouldn't be concerned in the least about trailering with it installed.  That said, what does it take, 30 seconds to remove?
