Winch modification question

I'm seeking the wisdom of this forum again.

I tried to use the winch to lift the front of the Z up so the machine is almost vertical. I would do this to make certain maintenance efforts quicker and easier.

The problem is that the winch rollers are set deeper into the front end than are the black plastic fascia and metal tube. Lifting the Z straight up would in the cable damaging one or both.

I'd like to move the winch rollers out about 2.25 to 2.5 inches.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this easily with off the shelf bits?
(I don't have a welder - yet :-)

How about making an extension for the fairhead using some square tubing maybe and longer bolts?

I had the same issue with my Brute Force but I did it two different ways. 1- I layed a 2x4 across the front plastics so the cable stayed away from it. Or 2- I held the quad back enough so the angle wouldn't hit the plastics while lifting. But that was a PITA when letting it hack down as I had to have my wife help pull it backward when coming down.

Tubing and longer bolts sounds like the best way. But you could use a bucket load of washers and longer bolts too.

Tubing is the ticket. It will support the fairlead when it starts to to get a load on it. Washers will allow it to rock up and down. It will either just bend or snap the bolts.

Good point. The washers aren't as stable.
