Nope. This is mine. The motor that blew from the K&N, we did a rebuild. Lasted 800 miles. Then the pistons exploded.

Sadly I'm used to it. I had the whole ass end broke down and the motor apart on the bench in about 3 hours. I've done it so many times between this one, my buddies, and a few others, I can do it in my sleep.

Holy crap, probably no one on here is as worried as I am. I'm not trying to make anyone mad but I think everyone else on here just looks at theirs, well I ride the crap out of mine and it blew up at 1975 miles. I now have 2700 miles, my warranty runs out in May.  All I will have is a boat anchor if my engine explodes after warranty, because I can't afford to fix it!!!!  This is the first big purchase after I filed bankruptcy due to divorce. I watched all my buddies buying and riding their new sidexside's while I eat dirt on my old ass Polaris four wheeler for five years due to not having credit. To be honest I purchased the CF Moto due to price and all that came with it, plus it was pretty cool looking on the websites. So far after the rebuild I have had no problem, but if these damn things just let go all the sudden that ain't good!!! I keep hoping someone with a older unit will list one with 5 or 6 thousand miles, but what I'm afraid is these things aren't going to hold up if you ride them. Now Emersonsc and several of you guys probably know a lot more than I do about the ATV/UTV lineups. I keep reading about all these damn changes all you guys keep wanting to make to these things, hell this damn thing runs 73 miles an hour STOCK!!!  However I have not had it that fast since it blew up back at the end of August. I have been around engines however for my whole life and when a engine sounds like it is going to fly all to hell when you get it over 55 mph it scares me, it sounded that way when it was new. Doesn't anyone else think these things are extremely loud. What is is CF Moto going to do??? The reason I have road mine so much is if something else is going to fail I need it to do it under warranty. I am going to be honest this has scared the crap out of me, I am not a dealer, I am just a poor boy from KY, after warranty CF Moto is not going to help me!! Emerson please let us know your findings as cause of failure and CF Moto response, I sure am concerned!!!!

Well I would be lying if I said I never worry every time I go out... and yes, these things make a lot of noises... and any new noise makes me think of heading back to the truck. But the reality is mine so far has not done anything to let me down or left me walking. And I suspect of the millions of engines CFMoto puts out, only a small percentage have issues... which is true with any manufacturer.

I think all we can do is use common sense, keep clean oil in it, make sure it has nothing but clean air and maintenance it as required. After that, what will be... will be.

CLEAN & QUAKITY OIL is key here. Wet clutch designed oil is a MUST.

Obsessive checks of the air filter, also a MUST.

As far as noise:

You have two common factors. The clutches. I noticed these clutches have a LOT of chatter. This became even more obvious when I got it back with the new STM clutches and heard very little clutch noise.

Valves: these have adjustable rocker arms that will tick like mad if you aren't checking them on the regular.

The first time the engine went, it was a design flaw on CFMotos part. The airbox had practically fallen apart at the seams, was put together right, and got overrun with sand which caused the engine to suck the air filter flat and split allowing all the dusty air to get into the engine. Same happened to a buddies that I sold one in within 5 days of mine going down. By the time we figured out what happened to mine it was too late, we checked his and the same had happened.

This time around, I'm going to lean on my fault on this one.

Mine has a lot done to it. Two brothers exhaust. Twinair filter. Dynojet PCV w/Autotune and side band O2 sensors. I believe it was a combination of the autotune cable getting loose which caused the PCV to malfunction and lean out the machine, and my tuning being wrong. A few morele who know engines well were shown the pictures and said it looks like detonation caused by a combination of incorrect tuning, bad timing, and possibly some crap fuel.

by the way i saw here a pictures that the piston broke the engine body, thats exactly what hppend to my friend...
also as i know this engine dosnt has bearing on the crank shaft so thats bad......
anyway, i am really worry about the reliability of the cfmoto engines, and remember the Zforce is new  kid on the block and we are all doing the CFmoto reliability test..... and as its looks now its not looks good.

the crank doesnt have a bearing on the crankshaft? Thats news to me  ;D

i've torn apart a few of these motors now... I can assure you they have bearings. They dont have ball bearings, no. But they have bearings.

Emerson, it has been a while but I had seen where you had once posted that you recommended 15w40 oil. After mine blew up I purchased a change of oil from the dealer as well as CF Moto filter. I was going to put Shell Rotella 15w40 from here on out with OEM filter, but wanted to know if you still are running this or changed to something different??
