Have you installed this filter in yours?  I was considering changing mine over and hadn't found this part yet.

Yes, I have been running this filter for about 2 months now.  The air filters in these machines do not stay clean very long.  I'm surprised at how quickly they get dirty.  I generally run with the drain plug on the airbox removed so dirt and oil can drip out.  I knew I was going to be in deep mud I would reinstall the plug.  I've been running Uni and Twin Air filters in my machines for over 25 years and I have never had a problem.  I clean them with kero, gas, diesal, or whatever I have handy to remove the big stuff.  Sometimes I will throw them in a bucket with some laundry detergent and give them a hand wash.  Once they are dry I coat with motor oil and we are ready to go.  I never bought into the air filter oil hype.

Thanks for the feedback.  Mine's due for a change since I went riding in what seemed to be a dust bowl.  I've got one on order now.

I got my Uni filter installed today.  I'm not much of a fan of the clasps on the air box housing, but once you reseat the cover they'll re-close.  The filter fits great though I'll have to see how it performs here soon.

Looks just like mine.  The cover can be somewhat of a pain to get back on.  The clips are tight.  Like I said, its amazing how fast these filters get dirty.  I run a half windshield which causes dust to swirl in the cab.  I'd be willing to bet running with no windshield would cause less dust and a cleaner filter.  Just my 2 cents.  In your picture you can see the blower.  What is the purpose of it?  Is it there just to blow air onto the header pipe where it exits the engine?  Doesn't make sense to me.

The windshield swirling dust is definitely a cause to having more buildup in the filter and airbox.  The RZR 800 also had the same issue since it's air intake was between the seats as well.  I'd really like to see the entire air box and intake relocated.  The filter would be nice to have in the front of the bed next to the cab like the new RZR 900.  If/when CFMOTO refreshes this machine they could definitely learn a lot from the refinements that Polaris took from their customer base on the new 900.

I'll share something I did with you guys. I and my wife noticed a lot of heat, engine sound and sometimes exhaust gasses coming from that air intake grill when traveling slow. So, looking for a way to eliminate some of it I pulled the panel off and as you know, there is the back of the engine and the that cylinder's exhaust pipe along with the air intake pipe facing back at high. It was clear that moving slow it was also drawing hot air from the engine compartment all the time and as we all know, that should be avoided. And blocking the grill with sound deadening heat shield would make that even worse... although it could still get air. Sense the pipe was only 17 bucks and I had some HD sound deadening self adhesive head shield I decided to do the step #1 toward installing a snorkel and port a 3" hole into the bed, get a flanged grill and adapt it into the air intake tube. Then sealed-off that intake panel. The jury is still out if it improved performance with it now getting cold air all the time but...the air filter does stay cleaner longer pulling in from that simi-protected area and the noise in the cab had dropped by almost 15bd....and no more headaches and heat. Didn't take and pics while doing it but here are some of the after:

If you get time one day I'd like to see how you did it.  Not a complete re-work, but if you could show us to the best of your ability that'd be awesome.  I've noticed a substantial amount of hot air as well.

One of the things I did..and that I think I'll undo.. is I changed the air intake end from having about a 2" intake at the end of the pipe to a 2.75" opening. I have a feeling this has leaned it some and I don't want that so..I ordered a new pipe and will install it to that same grill setup. When I do that I'll do a video or something.

Looking forward to seeing the rework also. First time out today, noticed the heat and sound right away. The heat will probably be great in the fall while hunting but in 80

The new pipe came in and it turns out the 2014s (where I get my parts only has the 2014s) had a square intake hole at the top where the 15s have a round. I also bought a new stock airfilter...I know..the Unifilter is next. I found that my last ride in the mountains with the intake stock had done like everyone else's, caked the foam filter surface of the filter full of dust. This is why I though it didn't have the power it had before. I put the new one on and it smoked the tires out of the shop. MUCH better. So, I'll run this setup a while and see. In the meantime I am modifying the EX fenders I put on it to work...and look a little better.  Basically just taking the little lower wings off that get caught on everything.

I was out cruising this weekend and really noticed the heat in the cab and if it's an easy fix I'd like to correct mine.

I didn't re-do it because of two reasons. 1. the place I get my parts only have 2014 and those intake tubes have a square opening on the end where the 15s have a round. I bought it anyway. and 2. After putting a new airfilter on it it ran really good so it'll leave it for now. But you are in luck. I just happen to have all the panels off for the clutch and shifter upgrade so I'll take it apart and take some photos and post them.

Clutch and shifter upgrade??? Could you explain more? !
