Does anybody know of any wet clutch stall springs for the 800? Will springs for any other vehicle work? Does Dr. Pulley make a HiT clutch to fit it? I'd like to get my RPM just a little higher before the clutch engages. Thanks for any help.

I don't think Dr. Pully makes a HiT clutch or springs for the z or U force 800. I'll keep on the look out for you though. May I ask why you need a higher stall? Maybe setting the secondary to a stiffer position would do what you need... I found a hole new machine under me what I made a little clutch adjustment.

So are you saying Yamaha or Kawasaki springs will work?

I want to get the RPM up a little so it doesn't bog down in the mud when I get some big mud tires on it. A lot of mudders do it. I have stall springs on my Grizzly. They help a lot to get your engine in the power band more before the clutch engages, so it doesn't bog.

The bog might be from not enough back shift. Have you made any adjustments to you clutches?

Not yet, but the bog I'm talking about is when starting out from a complete stop in the mud. The CVT is already in it's lowest ratio at this point. No shifting modifications will help that. This happens when the wet clutch engagement RPM is too far below the engines power band. I don't want to raise it a lot, only about 500 RPM or so. I don't want to make it a handful in the rough stuff. I did this with my Grizzly and it helps a lot when your sunk in the mud and trying to rock it back and forth to get out with all 4 wheels spinning. It's still pretty manageable in the technical stuff.

Ok I see what your after. I  know dr pulley makes the hit wet clutch. I think that it is for the MC clutches. The z8 uses the HL clutch setup. The HL and MC use different OEM wet clutches so I doubt they interchange. You could email them and they might be able to get a little more info on it or at least figure out what springs you need. I do know the binding speed is 1800 to  2400 and lock up is 3300 to 3900 if that helps.

I know the X8 and the Z8 use the same clutch (ive been inside them both). According to the service manager at CFMoto, their single cylinder units (the 500 HO, 500) do NOT use wet clutches. WHich units used the MC clutch? I could look them up and see if they share the same bell housing. If they do, and the one way clutch bearing is the same, then the HL & MC should be interchangable.

They are different, both the clutch and the bell, HL & MC ,
That being said, the 14-15 Z8 only uses the HL clutch and bell
The Z6 uses the HL and MC

do they use differnt crankcase covers depending on what bell is used? Does the Z6 HL use the same bell as the Z8?

Bpraim, would stall springs for a Yamaha work? I've seen the parts diagrams on alpha-sports.com. The drawing looks exactly like the clutch in a Grizzly 660. But that doesn't mean they are the same in real life.

I've never tired, but i know the yama and kawa will interchange. So as all three are from the same manufacture I think they should. THINK. Like I said, I have never tried.

Thanks. I didn't know they were from the same manufacturer. I thought each company made there own.

I can get stall springs for a 660 from Hauck Power Sports for $30. That's not too much of a risk to try. When I have a little cash to spend I'll give it a try and post the results. May be a while though, because my finances are in shambles right now.
