I am in the same boat. My 2015 z800ex has less than 600 miles on it. Blowing blue smoke when you gun it, but not at idle. Fires right up, so I think I have decent compression. i changed out my stock filter with a uni a couple months after I got it. I talked with the dealer and he told me that the paper filters are better because they trap the dirt better. He was a fan of the uni. so not sure what to think at this point. Do I dump it and get something else or rebuild it. i paid 10,500 out the door 3+ years ago, will still be under the cost of the RZR. Seems like they can be rebuilt without the motor being taken out. I replaced a timing chain without issue.
Not real happy with the company, seems like some people have no issues at all, and then some are getting nickle and dime to death with repairs.
So far my issues were:
Shocks blowing apart (resolved n/c)
timing chain jumped (resolved n/c)
bad injectors (resolved $750)
Possible bad rings (not sure on cost)
