Top speed vs RPM
« on: February 01, 2016, 08:01:08 AM »
What is your top speed and what is your RPM on top?

My ZForce top out now at 68 mph at 7750 rpm (rev limiter).

When it was new, the top speed was 75 mph at 7050 rpm ????

Also my speedo is 100%  accurate and read absolutly the same as the gps.

Is it possible that when the bike was new the speedo was off and read 75 mph and now after 3000 km it was accurate??!!!

Do you it your rev limiter (7750 rpm) on top speed ?

I'm not sure where the rev-limiter is on these but mine never went above 69...and it sure sounded like it was well past 7750 rpm. I hear about people hitting speeds above 70 with these and I figure its because they are closer to sea level them I am...I also wonder why anyone would need to go that fast.. especially in a Chinese off-road vehicle...lol  Sorry but I just don't trust mine.. yet. :)

The only thing that can change the ratio is the belt. It can become thinner with wear and effect how far the clutched open and close. That's it other then the clutched binding at some point. You will inspect all that when out though. Look closely at the ramps on the secondary. I see mine have some wear and only with then 400 miles. Polish the ramps and pads and put a slight bit of graphite on then when assembling it. It will help.

I agree. It may be time to replace that worn belt. You'll also want to check your rollers and slides and make sure they arent worn, and also check the sheathe facing and make sure they arent grooved or pitted.

I disagree on the speed. The faster the better  8) I have mine pushing over 70, and have never had any issues or anything that would make me not trust it. Its been rolled, jumped, and plain beat on in the woops. I wouldnt worry about lacking trust. I've been told by STM i should see close to a 10mph bump with my new clutches, so ill be close if not over 80mph when shes done, with more of those 63 ponies and torque to the wheel thanks to the wet-clutch delete.

No, all the same.
The roller are like new and all weight between 25,03g and 25,17g.
When the bike was new, i don't have check the speedo vs gps, but the speedo reach 121 kph @ 7050 rpm and now 107 @ 7750 rpm (my GPS and Speedo read exactly the same). This is with a brand new belt. Before the new belt the top speed have dropped to 62 mph (100 kph)

NMkawierider, for me my ZForce is more stable than any 55" on the market and feel rock solid at speed. I have 3" spacer.
Also the relibility is top notch for now.

If you dont trust your Cf 800 at speed, never try a RZR 800 !!!

In all fairness it has done nothing to cause any dis-trust. I think some of my concerns stem from a couple of times cornering at speed  this 53" felt a little loose and tippy when it shouldn't have..wasn't much of a corner. That and the poor brakes.
My friend has a RzR 800 and yeah, before his new tires and wider offset wheels it was always looking like it was going to fall over and weaving at high speed.

Make you a gift and put 3" spacer (1.5 each Side) on your 53"...
You can't imagine how it improve the ride quality and suspension .
Night and day...
I can make donut on pavement.
On mine, i have remove the swaybar and adjust the 4 shocks and the ride is awesome. I have no trouble to play with any 60+ Inch in any trail. Its by far the best mod i have done to my ZForce

Oh I believe it. Before buying the new 27" GRs I put my 26" GRs with the SS112s off my Brute on it to see how it did. It was night and day on stability and no feel of laying over on donuts. Amazing what 1.5"s can do. It was just much tougher to get on the truck as I needed to build ramps to get over the wheel wells. I still might do the spacers or just get some new wheels with a better offset and just deal with the truck. I still have the wood ramps I made and their mounts so..no big deal.

Funny thing for mine is that when I did my clutch work and had it on the B2 position I took it up to see where the top end was figuring it would hit the rev limiter but at about 68 it sounded like she was far past any RPM I wanted to push it to so I questioned if these actually had a limiter. I ended that speed run as it didn't seem it was going do much more anyway. Now my Brute Force with the Dynatek CDI has the rev limiter set are 8900 but the Moto sounded like it was there or  a bit past that. Sound isn't the way to judge RPMs so it probably wasn't but it sure seemed that way at the time.
