Spare tire offset
« on: March 11, 2020, 10:21:39 AM »
I want to purchase an aftermarket (a little cheaper) wheel so I can have a spare tire if I need one. I have a 2017 Zforce 800ex. Can anyone tell me the offset for a spare? I’m getting one for the front size (26x9x14).

The actual factory front wheel has an offset of 4.91+2.09 but you will never find that in an aftermarket wheel. You will want one that can be used on both front or rear and the offset only has to be close as it's a spare so if it were me, I would go with a 7x14" wheel with an offset of 5+2 or a 4+3. That's as close as you are going to get it. Of course it should also have the tapered lugs as it needs to be lug-centric and the same 4/110 pattern.

Why not purchase a factory wheel? That’s what I did.  I mounted a front tire to it and have the perfect spare for the front and a viable one for the rear to get me to the trailer.

Thank you for the info. I have another question. Might be a dumb one. I have a 26x9x14 tire for the spare.  Can it be mounted on the 14x7 wheel you showed me?

Great idea but I’m trying to save a couple of bucks. It would be the easiest remedy though. Found them for $185.

Yes, the fronts wheels on a Z are 7" with 9" wide tires.

I think CFM wants way too much for their wheels. You can get a 14", 7" wide with a 5+2 or 4+3 offset in a 4/110 pattern for under 120..sometimes under 80 for aluminum. Here's one...and it's a Fuel. It's a +13mm so its a 4.51 + 2.49.

I was hoping to pull up the picture, not! So is there plenty of clearance from the back of the zforce to the carrier frame? I have the same wheel, but with one of my old 26-11x14 tires mounted to it. Also I wonder if the bottom angle of the carrier drags when hitting dips or starting up a steep incline?
